Weight Loss Challenge Winners: Patient spotlight 2019
We are so proud of our Weight Loss Challenge 2019 winners! These two clients showed amazing motivation and perseverance over the 8-week challenge. They each lost about 20 lbs during the challenge and have both met their goal weights! We are so proud of them, and asked them each a few questions regarding their journeys and what helped them be successful. All photos are used with patient's consent.

Q & A With winner, Darcy M.
Staying motivated and sticking with the weight loss challenge over the 8-week time period is extremely difficult. What was your primary motivation going through this challenge? It was hard to kick habits, but getting healthier and feeling better was my primary goal.
Which factor do you think contributed most to your successful weight loss? Appetite suppressants, diet and then exercise. I was a carb addict, but I am glad that I can now consciously go without them!
What is your favorite component of the weight loss program at Pacholec Center for Weight Loss? I love how Dr. Pacholec works with you. If something isn't working for you or contributing to weight loss she will try different approaches to help you overcome plateaus. The Pacholec MD app is helpful for tracking progress in between appointments as well.
Losing weight takes a village! Who has been your biggest cheerleader/supporter during this process? My husband! Even though he is not on a similar diet, he has encouraged me and has reminded me to stay active.
How do you intend to keep the weight off and stay on track? I hope to keep it off with maintaining my portion control, making better protein choices and staying active.

Q & A With winner, Mark M.
Staying motivated and sticking with the weight loss challenge over the 8-week time period is extremely difficult. What was your primary motivation going through this challenge? I really wanted to make a change and a difference in the way I felt. I wanted to wake up each day feeling better.
Which factor do you think contributed most to your successful weight loss? Appetite suppressants, lifestyle changes, diet and exercise.
What is your favorite component of the weight loss program at Pacholec Center for Weight Loss? Dr. Pacholec is an amazing physician and woman! She has been my doctor for quite some time now and has never judged me, especially if my progress is poor. She always motivates me to do my best! She is just a very positive, gentle and caring person in general. She saw me through my surgeries and tried desperately to help me through the pain of them. I thank her very, very much for all she has done for me through the years!!!
Losing weight takes a village! Who has been your biggest cheerleader/supporter during this process? At the same time the 8-week challenge came up, a 6-week Boot-Camp Crossfit Challenge also came up on my Facebook page. Not knowing what Crossfit was, I signed up immediately to keep me motivated and accountable. I did the cross-fit challenge every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the 6 weeks and checked in on my Facebook page for all to see. My trainer, Brent, kept me motivated as this was one of the hardest things I have ever been through. I am 53 years old, I had 2 back surgeries in 2017 which left me unable to walk or stand for more than 5 minutes, and to do the Crossfit exercises was an amazing accomplishment! Being successful with the Crossfit was a lifestyle change that also enabled me to be successful for the weight loss challenge.
How do you intend to keep the weight off and stay on track? I am going to keep doing the Crossfit as much as possible, while also trying to avoid injury! I will also keep seeing Dr. Pacholec to stay on track. I am satisfied with where I am today, and intend to use both Crossfit and Dr. Pacholec's program to maintain it.
